Millbrook House Residential Care Home in Child Okeford held their annual Summer Garden Party on Sunday, 21st July. The rain cleared just in time to provide for a beautiful afternoon. Hosted by the residents and staff, relatives and friends were welcomed to enjoy a fun filled afternoon in the lovely gardens. Everyone enjoyed various stalls including “Guess the weight of the cake”, an arts and crafts stall as well as the usual raffle and tombola stalls. The WI sold homemade produce. Head chef, Karen, prepared delicious scones served with jam and cream accompanied by a glass of refreshing Pimms or a selection of teas. There was a display of Birds of Prey with a couple of the birds finding several heads to perch on to gain attention! A fantastic time was had by all!
Gini Hyde, the Home Manager, was delighted that the afternoon raised an impressive total of £450 which will be donated to Forest Holme Hospice in Poole. A big thank you to staff and residents for helping to make the afternoon such a success and thank you to everyone who came and supported us.
